About The #passitonproject
The #passitonproject began in 2013 with a simple idea: what if we set Travis Rice's personal snowboard free into the world, to be passed from rider to rider? Where would it go? What would people do with it?
A year later, the board - a 2013/14 Lib Tech T.Rice Speedodeeps - had traveled from Jackson Hole to Japan to Alaska to New Zealand and back to Japan, where Travis reconnected with the board in January, 2014.
All told, the #passitonproject board logged thousands of miles, was passed on by several hundred riders who uploaded a zillion photos to Instagram tagged with the #passitonproject hashtag, and journeyed to some of one of the most iconic mountain ranges in the world. Along the way, the board was stickered to the hilt, tuned by shops when it needed some TLC, and generally cared for as if it was personally loaned by Travis Rice to each rider who took a spin on it.
In 2015, we teamed up with Jamie Lynn in honor of his 20 amazing years as a pro snowboarder to launch #passitonproject 2015, #yearoftherattail. This board is still making its way around the world.
The board? A very special, one-of-a-kind #passitonproject edition of Jamie Lynn's 2015/16 Rat Tail, customized by Asymbol and built by the Bitchin' Board Builders at Lib Tech's factory in Washington State: Watch the Lib Tech factory video.
We invite you to join the #passitonproject as this board journeys deep into the snowboard universe. Keep your eyes open for the board in your neck of the woods, and check the photo gallery to keep up with the latest adventures of the #passitonproject. The journey is only just beginning...
